I Vampiri premieres in Turin, Italy in 1957. Italy’s first horror film, directed by icon Mario Bava, is about a mad scientist who kidnaps women, draining their blood to keep an ancient duchess alive. It was released in the U.S. in 1963 as Lust of the Vampire.
