It’s Alive premieres in Chicago in 1974. The sci-fi horror film about a vicious mutant baby, featuring special effects by Rick Baker and a score by Bernard Herrmann is given very limited release at first and wider release three years later, when mixed reviews and changing audiences make it a small success and lead to two sequels and an eventual remake.
