The Phantom Carriage opens in the U.S. in 1922. The highly influential Swedish silent horror film about a ghostly carriage driver is notable for its sophisticated story telling and special effects and is still regarded as one of the greatest silent horror films and Swedish films ever made. A Swedish remake would follow in 1958.
