I Vampiri premieres in Turin, Italy in 1957. Italy’s first horror film, directed by icon Mario Bava, is about a mad scientist who kidnaps women, draining their blood to keep an ancient duchess alive. It was released in the U.S. in 1963 as Lust of the Vampire or The Devil’s Commandment.
