Famed B-movie critic Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy the Mail Girl and horror movie icon Felissa Rose are brightening up Halloween 2020 for guests of Joe Bob’s Haunted Drive-In, which spans three days and two cities. The horror B-movie drive-in also offers visitors some “live zombie” action as they sit in their cars watching 15 short films — ranging from Director Tony Reames’ Playtime’s Over and Chris Youngless’ satanic heavy metal horror-comedy Melvin and the Microphone, to filmmakers Lee Bader and Liri Navon’s wry take on the impact of COVID with Six Feet Apart. From themes of demonic sex toys to cyber-bullying, Briggs adds his unique sense of humor throughout the lineup on-screen. Halloween film series star Danielle Harris, Dave Sheridan from Scary Movie, and YouTube stars and Dead Meat podcast hosts James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca also join Briggs and his co-hosts on-screen. Briggs, Darcy the Mail Girl and Rose are also available for signings. Of course, at the center of the action are the zombies that gleefully emerge during the screening to pop up on unsuspecting victims. The first two screenings were in Torrance, with the final Halloween event taking place in Pasadena.
