Edward Dmytryk is born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada in 1908. The Oscar-nominated director’s long career is known mostly for The Caine Mutiny and film noir, however Dmytryk also makes the Boris Karloff horror film The Devil Commands in 1941, Captive Wild Woman in 1943 and the thriller Bluebeard in 1972. He died in 1999.
