The Last Man on Earth opens in the U.S. in 1964. Starring Vincent Price, the American/Italian co-production is the first attempt to turn Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend into a movie. The script was co-written by Matheson, though he never liked the final result. While not a success at the time, the film has since come to be considered a classic.
