Joan Crawford is born in San Antonio in 1906. Though her long, Oscar-winning career was largely in dramas and romances, her later work was dominated by thrillers like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Hush… Hush Sweet Charlotte, Berserk! and the William Castle films Straight-Jacket and I Saw What You Did. Her TV work included the pilot episode of Night Gallery and an episode of The Sixth Sense. She died in 1977.
