The band Black Sabbath release their self-titled debut album in 1970. Incorporating Birmingham, England’s industrial surroundings with a slow, heavy blues rock base, Black Sabbath creates perhaps the first great horror rock album and gives heavy metal a new, darker edge that upsets parents for years.
