Ed Wood is born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. in 1924. Often considered the worst director in movie history, many of his films have cult followings, including Plan 9 From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda, and Bride of the Monster. He died in 1978. The making of Plan 9 was the main subject of the feature film Ed Wood, starring Johnny Depp in 1994.
