Two men and two women are wanted by Costa Mesa Police for severely damaging the large Sasquatch figure outside of Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales on March 30.
Surveillance cameras show a man and woman tearing the approximately eight-foot-tall fiberglass statue from its bolted concrete foundation, ripping the feet apart.
A short time later, another man and woman joined them to carry away the statue, dropping it multiple times before disappearing off screen. About 30 minutes later, the two men brought the figure back, dumping him face down on the side of the property.
“Our staff found him [the statue] the following morning. He is chipped and damaged, and his feet are completely destroyed. I don’t think he will ever stand again,” says co-owner Madison Rhoades. “We have had people paint his toenails with nail polish or leave him trinkets like hats, necklaces, or scarves, but no real harm has come to him until now.”

Police are considering the act a felony because the figure is valued at more than $3,000. Rhoades says she and husband and co-owner Luke purchased the figure from a furniture store in June 2024. They don’t know who created the statue.
The owners have not announced what their plans are for the damaged Sasquatch figure, or for the space it once stood on.
If the public has information about the crime, report it to the Costa Mesa Police at (714) 754-5252, case # 25-004270, or contact the owners at CampLeader@SlashersOC.com
