The Hands of Orlac opens across the U.S. in 1928. The Austrian silent horror film stars Conrad Veidt and is the first of five film versions of the book Les Mains d’Orlac. It does well and is followed by the first American version of the story, Mad Love, with Peter Lorre in 1935.
