The Island of Doctor Moreau opens across the U.S. in 1977. The second film version of H.G. Wells’ novel, and the second of three Wells films for American International Pictures between The Food of the Gods and Empire of the Ants. Burt Lancaster leads a good cast and it a minor success at the time.
