Hangover Square premieres in New York City in 1945. A variation on the previous year’s The Lodger, itself a fictional take on Jack The Ripper, adapts a vaguely Ripper-esque storyline about a murderous composer that stars Laird Cregar, who died before the film was released and George Sanders, who punched the producer during shooting. The film is a mild success.
