Elizabeth Bathory is said to be arrested at her Čachtice Castle in the Kingdom of Hungary (now Slovakia) in 1610. Known in popular legend as The Blood Countess or Countess Dracula, she is considered the most prolific female serial killer in history and served as inspiration for numerous horror novels and movies.
