Daimajin premieres on U.S. television as Majin the Monster of Terror in 1968. Literally translated as “Great demon god,” the first film of a trilogy that mixes samurai movies with kaiju movies, tells the tale of a spirit inside an ancient statue summoned to reap revenge on an evil warlord.
