Dan Curtis is born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1927.  The writer/director/producer is known for his horror-based TV work, creating the Dark Shadows, and Kolchak: The Night Stalker shows as well as The Night Stalker and Trilogy of Terror TV movies. Even though his 1980s miniseries were big successes, his work also includes The Norliss Tapes, Dead of Night, and TV adaptations of Dracula, Frankenstein,The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and The Turn of the Screw. He died in 2006.
