The Bride of Frankenstein premieres in Chicago, San Francisco and Portland, OR. in 1935. It would open across the U.S. a month later. The sequel to 1931’s Frankenstein is considered one of the best sequels and best American films ever made. Directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester in her most famous role. Though controversial for decades, the film is a hit on its release and re-releases.
