The film is a dark-humored homage to werewolf movies with innovative effects by Rob Bottin. Harold Eugene “Doc” Edgerton is born in Fremont, Nebraska in 1903. The father of the modern strobe light received his PhD in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when he began using the stroboscope to study synchronous motors. Edgerton also played a role in the development and use of sonar and deep-sea photography. He died in 1990.

He also appeared in the Doctor Who movie Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. He died in 1997.

Perhaps the most famous magician in history, he performed escapes for large audiences in the U.S. and Europe, later starred in series of films and worked to expose spiritualists as frauds. Houdini has been depicted in several film and TV biopics and other fictional dramas that featured him as a character, where he was portrayed by Tony Curtis, Harvey Keitel, Adrien Brody, Guy Pierce and others. He died on Halloween 1926.
