The distinctive Oscar-winning actor’s work on stage, TV and film stretches over seven decades and includes the films Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man, Soylent Green, The Awakening and TV’s The Outer Limits. He died in 2008.
