Son of Dracula opens across the U.S. in 1943. The third film in Universal’s original Dracula franchise, Lon Chaney Jr. takes over for Bela Lugosi. Better special effects by the studio’s John P. Fulton show the Count transforming into a bat, as well as to and from mist.
