They Live opens across the U.S. in 1988. John Carpenter’s darkly satirical alien thriller blasted Reagan-era policy and culture and stars former WWF pro wrestler Roddy Piper and Keith David. Though it was a minor success on its release, the film has become a cult favorite and now regarded as one of Carpenter’s best films.
