Kenneth Tobey is born in Oakland in 1917. His five-decade-long career as a character actor on stage, screen and TV included the films The Thing from Another World, It Came from Beneath the Sea, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, The Vampire, The Howling, Gremlins and The Naked Monster. He died in 2002.
