The Spanish language version of Dracula premieres in Havana, Cuba in 1931. Made simultaneously with the English-language version that stars Bela Lugosi, Universal’s Spanish version features the same script and sets, but different cast and crew. While a success in Latin America, the film is largely forgotten until it re-emerges on home video in 1992. In 2015, the Library of Congress add the film to the National Film Registry.
