28 Days Later opens across the U.S. in 2003. The British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland is credited with launching the zombie film revival as well as being the first horror film to reflect the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The film stars Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson and Naomie Harris and is a critical and box office hit, leading to sequels and comic books. Featured on several best-of lists, it is now also considered one of Britain’s greatest films.
