Marvel Comics’ The Monster of Frankenstein debuts in 1973. Part of Marvel’s early ‘70s integration of horror and monsters into its superhero universe, including The Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf By Night, Man-Thing, Ghost Rider and The Son of Satan. The 18-issue run begins with the retelling of the classic novel before moving into the 1890s and eventually the modern world. Marvel brings the character back in various ways over the following decades.
