Five Million Years to Earth opens across the U.S. in 1968. Known as Quatermass and the Pit in the UK, the Hammer sci-fi film about a buried alien spacecraft is a sequel to The Quatermass Xperiment and Quatermass 2 and based on the BBC TV serials. Directed by Roy Ward Baker, the film is a hit and still well-regarded by Hammer fans.
