Gale Sondergaard is born in Litchfield, Minn. in 1899. The winner of the first Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1936 for Anthony Adverse, her long career on stage, film and TV includes Faust, The Cat and the Canary, The Black Cat, The Invisible Man’s Revenge, The Spider Woman Strikes Back, and an episode of Night Gallery. She died in 1985.
