Nightmare Classics premieres on Showtime in 1989. The third and least successful of the series actress Shelley Duvall produced for the cable network in the 1980s, following Faerie Tale Theatre and Tall Tales & Legends. The four-episode series featured Roddy McDowell, Laura Dern, Rue McClanahan, C. Thomas Howell, Meg Tilly, Ione Sky, Daphne Zuniga and Amy Irving. The anthology included takes on Turn of the Screw and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
