The Creature from the Black Lagoon opens across the U.S. in 1954. The last of Universal’s classic horror franchises was also a 3D film released during 3D’s “golden age.” Smaller markets saw the film in regular format. It was followed by two successful sequels: Revenge of the Creature (also filmed in 3D) and The Creature Walks Among Us.
