Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster opens in Japan in 1964. Directed by kaiju master Ishiro Honda, the fifth film in the Godzilla franchise finds Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra saving Earth from a three-headed dragon from Venus. The film is trimmed and actually improved for the American release, according to some critics. It’s also notable for being the film that turns Godzilla from a villain to a hero.
