Though her long Oscar-winning career was largely in dramas and romances, her later work was dominated by thrillers like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Hush... Hush Sweet Charlotte, Berserk! and the William Castle films Straight-Jacket and I Saw What You Did. Her TV work included the pilot episode of Night Gallery and an episode of The Sixth Sense. She died in 1977.

The Spanish language version of Dracula premieres in Havana, Cuba in 1931. Made simultaneously with the English-language version that stars Bela Lugosi, Universal’s Spanish version features the same script and sets, but different cast and crew. While a success in Latin America, the film is largely forgotten until it re-emerges on home video in 1992. In 2015, the Library of Congress adds the film to the National Film Registry.
