The Haunting premieres in New York City in 1963. The creepy and atmospheric haunted-house thriller directed by Robert Wise, and starring Julie Harris, Claire Bloom and Russ Tamblyn, is a moderate success at the time, but has since come to be regarded as a horror classic. A remake was produced in 1999.
