Val Lewton is born in Yalta (now Crimea, Ukraine) in 1904. Novelist/producer/writer best known his string of well-made B-movies in the 1940s including Cat People, I Walked With A Zombie, Leopard Man, Isle Of The Dead, The Body Snatcher and Bedlam. He died in 1951.
