The Turn of the Screw is published in its first installment in Collier’s Weekly in 1898. Written by Henry James, the gothic ghost novella would complete its serialization in April and becomes a classic that is eventually adapted as an opera, ballet, play and numerous movies and TV productions, including most famously The Innocents in 1961.
