Filmmaker/musician John Carpenter is born in Carthage, New York in 1948. Considered one of horror’s greatest writer/directors, his films include Halloween, The Fog, The Thing, Christine and They Live. He has often composed the music for his films as well and won a Saturn Award for his film Vampires.
