The Picture of Dorian Gray opens across the U.S. in 1945. The fourth film — and first non-silent version — of Oscar Wilde’s story stars  Hurd Hadfield, George Sanders, Angela Lansbury and Peter Lawford and features 3-strip Technicolor sequences in the black-and-white film. In 2001, the American Film Institute ranked the film 86 on its 100 Years … 100 Thrills list.
