Actor Dwight Frye is born in Salina, Kansas in 1899. Frye is best known for his weird character roles in Universal horror movies in the 1930s, including hunchbacked lab assistant Fritz in 1931’s Frankenstein and as Renfield in 1931’s Dracula. Frye died of a heart attack in 1943. He was only 44 years old.
