The Body Snatcher is published in London’s Pall Mall Gazette newspaper in 1884. The Robert Louis Stevenson short story, loosely based on the Burke and Hare murders, is later published in a collection of short stories soon after Stevenson’s death and was made into a movie in 1945 by Val Lewton starring Boris Karloff.
