Charles Beaumont is born in Chicago in 1929. The tragically short-lived writer of dozens of horror and sci-fi short stories, several classic episodes of The Twilight Zone and screenplays for multiple films, including Roger Corman’s adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death, was also much admired by other American writers like Ray Bradbury, Richard Matheson, Harlan Ellison and Robert Bloch. He died in 1967.
