Director Tobe Hooper is born in Austin, Texas in 1943. One of the horror genreโs most respected directors, his films include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Funhouse, Eaten Alive, Invaders from Mars and Poltergeist, and his TV work includes Salemโs Lot, plus episodes of The Equalizer, Amazing Stories and Billy Idolโs โDancing with Myselfโ music video. He died in 2017.ย
