Stuart Freeborn is born in London in 1914. Considered an innovator in modern makeup design, his work includes the classics The Bridge On The River Kwai, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove, his work in horror includes 1976’s The Omen. He his most famous for designing Chewbacca and Yoda, as well as overseeing the creation of Jabba the Hut and the Ewoks in the original Star Wars trilogy. He died in 2013.
