The Zombie Survival Guide is published in 2003. Max Brooks’ first book is part sly zombie satire, part disaster preparedness manual. It delights some critics and confounds others, and sells well. A promotional comic-book is released a few weeks later, and the pair help propel the post 9/11 zombie revival.
