R. L. Stine is born in Columbus, Ohio in 1943. The author is considered “The Stephen King of children’s literature” for having written more than 200 novels or novelettes in the Goosebumps, Fear Street, Mostly Ghostly, Rotten School, and Nightmare Room series or stand alone novels like It’s The First Day Of School … Forever!, When Good Ghouls Go Bad and the adult-oriented Superstitious. He has also written screenplays and produced versions of this books for TV and film. Forbes designated him one of the best-paid entertainers of the 1990s. His awards include the 2007 Thriller Writers of America Silver Bullet Award, and the 2014 Horror Writers Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
