Cujo is published in 1981. Stephen King’s tale of a Saint Bernard with rabies is a bestseller, but written during the height of King’s alcoholism, he is unable to remember writing it. According to the American Library Association, the novel was of the top 50 most banned and challenged books of the 1990s. A film version would follow.
