28 Days Later opens across the U.S. in 2003. The British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland is credited with launching the zombie film revival as well as being the first horror film to reflect the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The film is a critical and box office hit and inspires a sequel and comic books. Featured on several best-of lists, it is now also considered one of Britain’s greatest films.
