Dan O’Bannon is born in St. Louis in 1946. The screenwriter and director wrote the screenplay for Alien, Lifeforce, and the Invaders from Mars remake, wrote and directed the horror comedy Return of the Living Dead, co-created the animated film Heavy Metal and co-wrote Total Recall. He died in 2009.
