The Black Death Briefing or the “Terribilis” is issued in 1348. Edward III tells the Archbishop of Canterbury to warn people that plague is coming. Clergy tell them to pray, repent and give money to the church. Plague still kills nearly half the population of England over two years and leaves a long shadow over storytelling, becoming a regular feature in film, TV and theater storylines.
