House of Usher premieres in Palm Springs, Calif. in 1960. The first of director Roger Corman’s eight Edgar Allan Poe-based films, features a screenplay by Richard Matheson, stars Vincent Price and is shot in just 15 days. The film was included for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2005.
